Week 88 - Charity. and Love Unfeigned

It's been another incredible week. I'm ceased to be amazed at the love Jesus offers me. But I love it.

I feel it most powerfully at times when I am given the chance to serve others. Nothing helps me understand the atonement than to act as a savior, even for just a moment to someone in need. It reminds me of the sacrifice made on my behalf, even though minute and uncomparable in size, feat, or significance. Through the service I have been able to give these past few months I have realized something.

Charity is the building block of love, and in vice versa, Love is the building block of charity. And like many principles of the gospel, the two qualities are intertwined so strongly to the point at which I truly believe they are in fact two sides of one coin.

Among many other things, charity is the dynamo behind missionary work. It is the driving force behind the "work and the glory" of god. And ultimately I believe it is the unlimited source upon which our savior drew the strength he needed to perform the atonement; of which I bare testimony of it's enabling power.

Charity is the fuel for miracles; for we know that miracles only happen, "after all that we can do", and of course, what would lead us to do "all that we can do", save charity alone?

"Charity is the greatest of all...and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him."

Why?.. because it is the driving force behind every other aspect of the gospel.

I am yet to understand fully the entirety of the gospel.
I probably never even will come close to grasping the full divinity of the savior. The love of the father. The power of the Atonement.

But all is well. For this I have come to know:

All that I have is enough.
And I am truly lucky, for that is all I have to give.

God lives. Jesus is the christ.
Of this I bare witness.

Miracles DO happen

when we place our faith in the right place.

Hearts can truly change

As he lives, and even as I live.

I love you. Have an incredible week

-Elder Leavitt

p.s. Apologize for no pictures. I'll have another big post next week. Just know that all is well, and I miss you all. There will be many more letters as I prepare to come home over the next few months. Please though continue to pray for me. There are people down here that need your prayers, me included on that list as much as any of them :) Thank you!

Week 87 - They moved me to Katy!

Apologize for not writing in a few weeks. Things have been hectic down here. Just know that life is well.
It has been the incredible down here in Texas. Biggest news as of today: I got moved to KATY!!!

and it is WELL... It is a joke how nice this apartment is compared to the apartments I have been in before. It's about time I get moved to somewhere nice! :D

My new companion is Elder Cloward. He is a pretty chill duck from Utah. He's been out a total of six weeks, so I will be finishing his training, which is always fun!

also, the other zone leader in Katy is Elder Whitney. And yes that is my daddy. So it is well. I can't imagine a better way to die than as Zone leaders with my trainer! Life is good!
All i can say is that I love my mission!

Week 86 - All is well. But alas transferred again.

Life is well. The mission is well. All things are well in Spring, Texas...
But alas, I have been informed that I will be getting transferred once more. So although Spring has been incredible, I will see where the lord needs me for these last few months of my mission.

Adios Spring Texas! I love you guys!

Vigils, Deavers, Kizerians, Rasmussens, Keelers, Johnsons, Tuck, Pouwers, Boyds, Wideman, Isom, Kendricks, Otas, Sabistons, Tua'ones, Garretts, Badonis, Williams, Ragsdales, Hardys, Barrows, Martinez, and everyone else that I missed, Thank you so much. You guys are incredible and very dear to me, and have helped teach me some of the greatest lessons during my stay in Klein Oak. Thank you so much! Your influence will be remembered by me for the rest of my life.

all I can say is..

Keep on the keeping on! This is the lord's work!

Anyhow though...

I have found an incredible testimony of the miracles that await us as we do the lord's work. He truly is in the details of our lives, if we can but be prepared to listen to the spirit. It is so amazing. Anyone who isn't or hasn't been a missionary could never understand, but it is true :)

also, a SHOUTOUT to the family back home!!!

Ya'll are the best!
Again, I apologize for not writing individually or wholly as much as I should. :) and though I have no legitimate excuse, I am sorry. Just know that I love you, and that you are on my mind always :) I have many great plans for us when I get back: ie. A family picture that isn't 20 years old... haha!

I hope you all have an incredible week! Thank you all that you do. It means more than you know to me.

I love you all.

-Elder Leavitt

Also. What an incredible conference....

The lord has truly blessed us this conference. Here was one of my favorite talks by elder Dube.

Also had the privilege of going to a filipino restaurant with a family down here that reminds me so much of Scott and Linda! They are hilarious!

She was telling me what was cooked with blood and what wasn't

Never quite decided if I liked the food or not. It was interesting.

Cheezy smiles for the win

Life is good.
The church is true.
If you don't know it, find out.
If you know already, don't forget :)

Have an incredible week. I love you
